I received the Abrams Award in Statistics from Stanford, the Sherwood Prize in Mathematics from UCLA, the Martin Luther King Jr. Award from Phi Beta Kappa, the Exceptional Student Award in business from State Farm Insurance, was a National Science Foundation doctoral fellow at Stanford University, and a Regents Scholar of the University of California.

I work with advanced and highly gifted students. I received numerous teaching awards for work at Stanford, Caltech, MIT, UCLA, and in the city of Los Angeles for independent work with gifted students.

Hobbies

I received the Meritoious Service Medal from Korean Veterans (2009), the Ambassador for Peace Award from the Republic of Korea (2008), The Joseph Dalton Hooker Chair from the T.H. Huxley and Aldous Huxley Family Foundation (2007), and a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles (2006). I work as a volunteer reader for elderly intellectuals and scientists with eye problems. I do work in philosophy of mind, neuroethics, and dry climate ecology. From 2006-2009, I employed a team of the best undergrads at Caltech reifying mathematical inventions and doing other crazy stuff. I try to spend at least a month each year alone in wilderness areas, studying desert ecology. I teach Japanese Butoh dance in San Francisco. I produce international drum and dance festivals.
